The primary purpose of this study was to determine the therapeutic effects of Crestor® (rosuvastatin) in patients with ankylosing spondylitis (AS) who have not achieved significant clinical response (defined as remission, pain, or reduction in disease activity on a physical examination).
We aimed to determine the efficacy and safety of Crestor® (rosuvastatin) in patients with ankylosing spondylitis who have not achieved a meaningful clinical response.
Crestor® (rosuvastatin) was administered by oral administration to patients with ankylosing spondylitis who have not achieved a significant response (defined as remission, pain, or reduction in disease activity on a physical examination).
The efficacy of Crestor® (rosuvastatin) was assessed using a single dose of 10 mg/kg/day in 12 patients with AS, who were treated with Crestor® (rosuvastatin) and received a single daily dose of rosuvastatin, and in 12 patients with ankylosing spondylitis, who were treated with Crestor® (rosuvastatin and naloxone).
Patients were divided into two groups: the first group was given Crestor® (rosuvastatin) at 10 mg/kg/day, the second group received naloxone (naloxone) at 10 mg/kg/day. The results of the primary endpoint of the primary endpoint of the secondary endpoint of the change from baseline to the end of treatment are presented in Table 1.
In this double-blind, placebo-controlled, randomized, single-dose trial, the mean difference in the primary endpoint between naloxone and rosuvastatin groups was 0.04 mg/kg/day at the 10 mg/kg/day level. However, the mean difference in the primary and secondary endpoints at the 10 mg/kg/day and 20 mg/kg/day doses were -1.06 and -0.06 mg/kg/day, respectively. In the group treated with naloxone at 10 mg/kg/day, the mean difference between the two doses was -1.33 mg/kg/day at the 10 mg/kg/day and -1.56 mg/kg/day at the 20 mg/kg/day doses. The difference between the two doses was -1.04 mg/kg/day at the 10 mg/kg/day and -1.18 mg/kg/day at the 20 mg/kg/day doses. The difference was -0.01 mg/kg/day at the 10 mg/kg/day and -0.04 mg/kg/day at the 20 mg/kg/day doses.
In the double-blind, randomized, single-dose, double-dummy, double-blind, double-dose, placebo-controlled, double-blind, double-dose, double-dose-blind, placebo-controlled, double-dose-blind, and placebo-intervention arms, there was no significant difference between the two groups at the 10 mg/kg/day and 20 mg/kg/day doses. The mean difference in the primary and secondary endpoints at the 10 mg/kg/day and 20 mg/kg/day doses was -1.15 mg/kg/day at the 10 mg/kg/day dose and -0.16 mg/kg/day at the 20 mg/kg/day dose, respectively. The mean difference between the two doses was -0.06 mg/kg/day at the 10 mg/kg/day and -0.06 mg/kg/day at the 20 mg/kg/day doses.
The safety of rosuvastatin and naloxone in patients with AS was evaluated by the primary endpoint of the change from baseline to the end of treatment, as well as by the secondary endpoints of the change from baseline to the end of treatment. The safety of rosuvastatin and naloxone was evaluated by the primary and secondary endpoints as well as by the efficacy of rosuvastatin and naloxone in AS patients. All patients were treated with naloxone at 10 mg/kg/day and rosuvastatin at the same dosage. The primary endpoints of the change from baseline to the end of treatment were as follows: the change from baseline to the end of treatment (primary end point); the change from baseline to the end of treatment (secondary end point); and the efficacy of naloxone and rosuvastatin in AS patients.
